Art. Ha. That's FUNNY. I feel bad for myself.

I realized that I no longer have any talent with drawing and painting, so obviously I did as much of it as I could in as little time as possible. Probably not the best way to learn, but yeah. I'm so dissapointed. It's like, doodles. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Sorry. I'm proud of one or two of them, though. Okay, here we are.

The top one is watercolor, and the one on the side is colored pencil.

At this point, I think I had gotten bored. The dreaded doodle.

The red guy is kinda cool, though. He's this other kind of water color paint, like, gauche or something. The two people are colored pencil, and the last girl is watercolor. I wanted to see if I could get skin tone with just yellow and red. Success? Ehh.
I kind of like this one, actually. She reminds me of Sadie in Across the Universe (good movie). It's just sharpie. Or maybe calligraphy pen. I don't remember. Some sort of ink.

This is the one I'm proud of! It's an actual person! You see, I was multitasking, trying to teach myself how to draw again and also stay entertained, so I was watching Alex Day videos. He's this really funny person on youtube who lives in London, I think, somewhere in the UK, and is seriously hilarious. He did the Harry Potter is Gay video that I posted to buzz that I watch maybe 2 times a day, minimum. So I was drawing him. It doesn't actually really look like him at any given moment, because he has the hair from like a few years ago and you know, face from now and nose from who knows and whatever. It doesn't actually look like him at all, actually. But that's okay. It was fun. The first one is in pencil, and the second one is in ink. I traced it over THE LAPTOP SCREEN MONITOR  I'm so bad. Well, it's about the same size and shape as one of those light box things. Hahaha. Anyway.

I did these drawing a long time ago, and have been meaning to post them here. But I haven't. I remembered now, finally.

The Great Gatsby

Nerdfighteria is reading the "great american classic" The Great Gatsby as this giant book club event thing. Of course I had to as well. It's so much fun. First of all, I'm really loving the book. Second of all, its great to have John Green explain the book as we go through it, because he understands all of the parts I'm unclear of. He also really reads into the symbolisms and stuff, and, you know, one of the best qualities of Hank and John Green is that they are sooo super good at explaining things that logically shouldn't make sense.
For example, this song is about quarks. Watch it, and you'll somehow know what they are. God. Also, that one about the nuclear energy that I made Sophie and Jessie watch when they were studying nuclear energy in Dallas. They just know.

So, guys, get out your parent's copy of The Great Gatsby and start reading. So far he's only done the first chapter, so you're fine. But that's unfair, really, because he said we had to do the first 6 chapters, and I did, and now he's only talked about one of them and I might forget. But. Anyway. Read the first chapter, then watch this.

And then you will fully enjoy being a part of Nerdfighteria and yeah reading old American literature. It's a good book! Why am I always so surprised by this? I LOVED The Catcher in the Rye. And those other ones. To Kill a Mockingbird. 1984. I'm always so shocked that old books are good. But they are. And this one is too. So read it.

Seriously, it's good. And he's an amazing English teacher. He is a professional writer, after all. So it's fun, for me.

JESSIE BRING MY CELL CHARGER ON FRIDAY

the venn diagram of "boys who don't like smart girls" and "boys you don't want to date" is a CIRCLE

John Green rules. He's the best. Ever. Probably.

On another note, I'm sorry for my posts not really being as regular as I would like. I mean, you probably don't care, but it's something that I wish I did more of. Writing is good. So yeah, I apologize.

On another another note, HARRY POTTER AHAHASDHIFOJWERIOJKLSDFJSKLJFSKdjf sorry had to get that out of my system. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH! So excited. I watched 4 hours of the live premiere (only exaggerating by 15 minutes) and yeah, it was amazing. Sigh. I'm so freaking excited.

I have some things I want to post here, but I need to find a camera. I'll be back. In maybe a few minutes/hours.

The Hunger Games

I like them, now.

Beware, this post isn't going to do them justice because it's 1 at night and I can't really organize my thoughts.

The most important thing I need to get out about The Hunger Games is that you all should read them. It's like Harry Potter on a smaller scale, but still on a scale large enough to matter. You can't just not read them. Sure, they're not the best thing in the world but that's one of those things that we need to get over. Enough people are obsessed.

I would rank these books still below both Twilight and Harry Potter, but they did make me cry a little bit. The last one did. A few times. It's a really good plot.

Ahh, I'm starting to do that doubting thing again, where I stop believing that I liked them. I LIKED THEM! I just finished the third one (second time, I was rereading) and it really made me sad in that book sort of way and now I'm not remembering how I enjoyed them.. I hate how i do that.

I find it really interesting how I did like it this time, because I think I didn't like it the first time. I think it had something to do with the fact htat I liked the wrong person. It's like Twilight, I switched who I liked more the second time. With Twilight, I pretty much go Team Jacob Team Edward every other time I read the series. With the Hunger Games, I guess it's the same way. This time, I loved Peeta. He's pretty much the most perfect person. On the planet. I think last time I didn't like that quality in him. Like, he was fake or something. But this time I read it and saw how nice he was and all that. The first time I liked Gale, and this time I was just annoyed at him the entire time. Like Alex (Kilts) when Rachel kissed Jesse on Glee that one time in the Prom episode, I was disgusted by him. Just like, no. I don't like you. Katniss has no obligation to like you. In fact, she should wake up and love Peeta instead, did you know he loves her to death and it's tragic?

Katniss is kind of stupid, but that's what you get with books like these. Main characters often suck, actually. Harry Potter isn't actually that cool. Bella Swan. Katniss. Um, I don't know who else. But it's true, authors don't develop them as much or something. It's the weirdest thing.

Anyway, I liked it more this time. A lot more. So don't believe me when I tell you it's not the best. Because it's actually really good. But i'm like, refusing to believe it. SO listen to me now, before I forget.

I really wish the ending of the third book was different. Not what happens, but how it happens. It had the potential to be really really powerful and I only cried a little bit. Like, not at all, really. And it was exactly what I wanted to happen so I should have been more touched. I LOVE PEETA. LOVE HIM. What's my list, again? Rudy. Ron Weasley. Peeta. Nick Park, from Girls for Breakfast. Jacob AND Edward. Artemis Fowl. Kent from Before I Fall. Ed, I am the Messenger. Almanzo from Little House on the Prairie. Um. Kind of a lot more.

It's called a fictional character crush, yo, and I'm very good at them. Haha.

But yeah, Hunger Games. Read. Thanks.

Can you tell I'm getting back into my summer phase? Books books books books books staying up as long as it takes to finish them. Then writing about them.

Seriously, reading the books that I've been talking about would be super cool of you. You should so totally go to the library and read them.

JOHN GREEN HAS A NEW BOOK CALLED THE FAULT IN OUR STARS AND I NEED IT NOW. You know from my last post that my YouTube obsession is still going strong, don't worry about that.

Bye.

I'm a crazy stalker, and have accepted that.

If you're bored, read this post. It pretty is what I do, on average, on YouTube. I decided to document it so can see. It's not just YouTube, by the way, it's also Wikipedia and the websites, and you know, just stalking in general. Seriously, if you wanna see how my mind works, read on.

Lucy sent me this video:

And I immeadietly looked up the guy, because he could actually sing. At the same time, I looked up the girl, and watched a few of her videos. She doesn't sing, so that's good. Because she's not the best. But she does do videos, such as this one (please don't watch ALL of these, it's not necessary, I'm just giving you an idea):

The guy is in this band Heyhihello, and they're pretty interesting. But confusing. I couldn't really find what they're about. http://www.youtube.com/user/isayheyhihello That's their YouTube site. Some music on there, not much. So I'm confused, and not interested enough to look them up. Well I listened to a few of their songs. Very Owl City, somehow. Electronic voice?

The band ALL CAPS is in/ writes a bunch of songs, I think including the Harry Potter Love song thing. I went to their channel, and "met" Kristina Horner and Luke Conard. http://allcapsband.com/ I like them a lot now, and I'm planning on looking them up and listening to more of their music. Kristina is a total nerd, you know, in the good way, talking and writing songs about Buffy and conventions and Harry Potter. Luke is too, I think, and he's also really talented. And cool. They both have YouTube channels that I am now subscribed to.

Kristina writes for this website that I'm planning to check out as soon as I finish writing this, it sounds cool: http://www.zaxy.com

I read a few posts, and this website is very cool. Parseltongue translator: http://parseltonguetranslator.warnerbros.com/parseltongue.php

Great, right? Kinda creepy. Um, next I found this band called Ministry of Magic, because Kristina was in this song "Lilly" or something like that.

Soon, my gmail status became lyrics from this song:

Sad, because they never made one for Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff of Slytherin. They matter too. Sometimes people forget that. (What the HELL is a Hufflepuff.)

Because Ministry of Magic is officially an awesome band, I'm listening to this playlist right now, like, currently: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74IqDKpI6fM&feature=BFa&list=AV4oVf-d_DwKDz3GHoZ6gLSay5sbNxZvuC&index=1

And after that, I'm going here: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=jasonmundaymusic&feature=iv&annotation_id=annotation_814730#p/c/96CE1FD735D48E6C/0/9L_PLStj6yM

That's Jason Munday, and he's, I think, in Ministry of Magic, but I think he just writes a lot of songs in general.

I have a piece of paper in front of me with these words on it:

  • Ministry of Magic
  • Jason Monday
  • ALL CAPS
  • Luke Conard
  • Pottermore

Because those are things I needed to look up.

The tabs I have open right now are kind of killing me. There's too many of them. I like an organized screen. It doesn't work, though, when you're webstalking. I think there is actually a word for that already. Surfing. But i like stalking better. It's a more accurate description.

Tabs open:

  • Gmail
  • YouTube: jasonmondaymusic channel page
  • Parseltongue translator
  • ALL CAPS homepage
  • ALL CAPS music page
  • YouTube lukeconard channel page
  • Blogger, new post, you know, this.
  • YouTube Ministry of Magic playlist. Now it's playing "Goodbye Privit Drive."
  • Urban Dictionary, where I was looking up what S & M means in that Rihanna song. I still don't know. There are too many entries. But I now have an idea. Yay!
  • Okay, now I have a yahoo answers page, for what it actually means. It's what I thought, Sadist/Masochist.
  • Snape vs. Snape, waiting to be played again after the playlist ends.
Good? Everyone have an idea of how my brain works while on the internet? Constantly pressing ctrl and t, and searching new things, to look at later. Then going back later. You know. Getting distracted easily. Finding new people and songs.

I like music, but not normal music. Well, I don't actively search for normal music. As often as I do other sorts of music. My ipod is the weirdest combination of AVPM/ Starkid/ U2/ Pink Floyd/ Lonely Island/ Vampire Weekend/ Mika/ Hank Green. The weirdest combination. Seriously, don't ever go shuffle on my ipod. It's so weird. Ahhhhh. Hahahaha. Actually, I'm going to have to do that now, just to see what happens.

Okay, yep, a few hours in the life of Livvy. I'm kind of superspeedyfast/ADHD when it comes to being online. Changing sites really quickly.

And that's how I use the internet, on an average day.

Edit: Since making this post, I have learned a lot more about these bands. Kristina and Luke (ALL CAPS!) are going out. Luke and Jason Monday are actually roommates, you know, like Charlieissocoollike (charlie) and nerimon (Alex Day) who you don't know, but I do. Just thought I would say that. Also, Heyhihello is a pretty good band, like a combination of Owl City and Boys Like Girls.

Girls For Breakfast

I really enjoyed this book. A lot. A lot a lot.

It was about a Korean-American guy named Nick who was a "banana." (gedditt, like oreo.) He likes girls. Has since third grade, when he found a playboy magazine with his friend.

I really liked how early in his life the book started- around second grade, when he was moving in as the only Asian in town. Not being accepted and stuff. The book spanned until highschool graduation. It was like real life--you would forget that that thing happened to you earlier. I would be more than halfway done, in 8th grade, and be like, this was the same guy who pretended to know Kung Fu and couldn't stop picturing the bus driver naked.

The real-lifeness of it was really nice. His friends, for instance. Very real. Non existent, then suddenly, popular, then alone. Again.

And the whole time, he's talking about girls. It's the story of his life. Girls.

He's just so unapologetically horny. I love it.

My brain was flooded with love for girls again. Around that time my thoughts about then were usually laced with a tinge of resentment, but at the moment I was reaffirmed in my dedication. Girls were what I lived for; they were all I ever wanted. Only girls could make me feel truly happy--I wanted girls for breakfast every day.

Gorgeous.

The one sentence summary was something like: the only Korean-American teenager in his WASP-y town looks back on his life and credits his ethnicity to why he wasn't accepted or included by friends or possible dates.

It was something like that, anyway.

On a scale of 1 to 10, a being ehh and 10 being read it now immediately for the sake of both of our happiness, I give this book a 9.5.

It was really really really really entertaining. And eyeopening. I don't really think about how girl-obsessed boys are, and like, stuff that they do... Um, can I say masturbating here?

But actually, that wasn't a big part of the book, don't worry. Actually, you would think it would be more, with the title, but it's not. Because he's so unbelievably pathetic/lovable. Like Holden Caufield.

It was actually more about growing up, and how people saw you, and how you saw yourself, and how you thought people saw you. And fitting in, wanting to, not wanting to... Defying stereotypes, living up to stereotypes, making stereotypes, fighting stereotypes... Racism, horniness. Sex, drugs, rock n roll. Just kidding. Really, kidding.

Again, this book is a 9/10. this mean I won't KILL you completely (using, of course, Nick Park's hummingbird move) but I will seriously injure you using the same technique, and if you are male, haha, I feel bad for you.

READ IT. Please, though, it was great. I read it for four hours straight. Well it didn't take me that long, by I was in a car. Headache. Suffered through. Plus, I had to acquire food in the middle, which was a waste of time. This book rocked.

I Changed my Background

I hate it a little less now.
